Storm/Nightcrawler Sketches: Remembering Dave Cockrum's Birthday

Today would be the 78th birthday of artist Dave Cockrum (born Nov. 11, 1943). Earlier this year, Cockrum's son posted these pages from Cockrum's personal sketchbooks on Twitter (in response to an oral-sex joke being cut from the Harley Quinn animated series due to DC saying "heroes don't do that"): An intimate encounter between Storm and Nightcrawler.

Assorted Pin-Ups: Remembering Dave Cockrum's Birthday

Today would be the 76th birthday of artist Dave Cockrum (born Nov. 11, 1943). Reposting from the old Tumblr site, an assortment of pin-up drawings by Cockrum (all of which I found posted on the Comic Art Fans website). And an undated sketch of Jean Grey with a "Bamf"...

Dave Cockrum's Ms. Marvel Pin-Up: Happy Birthday, Jim Shooter!

Happy birthday to writer/editor/publisher Jim Shooter (born Sept. 27, 1951)! Reposting from the old Tumblr site: A gag birthday card that Dave Cockrum drew for Shooter, spotlighting the impracticality of Ms. Marvel's costume...

Starting Over

In 2017, I started a Tumblr blog dedicated to sharing various nude artwork by established comic book artists, past and present. With Tumblr's policy changes, I've had to find a new home for my collection, so I thought I'd give Blogspot a try. I'll give this new home a test with the same image I used to launch the Tumblr site: A risque 1972 drawing by the late, great Dave Cockrum, featuring Jack Kirby's heroine Big Barda (in both black & white and colored formats).

Hope this new home works out well!
