Horror in the Dark #1, "Forgotten Tomb": Happy Birthday, Richard Corben!

Happy birthday to writer/artist Richard Corben (born Oct. 1, 1940)! Reposting from the old Tumblr site: From Horror in the Dark #1, "Forgotten Tomb"; story and art by Richard Corben.

It's always appropriate that October starts with a birthday post from a legendary horror artist...and keeping with the theme, for this month I'll be focusing primarily on posting panels from horror comics (though there will be occasional non-horror posts for the birthday posts, etc.). Let's get ready for Halloween!

Skull #2/Horror in the Dark #1, "Lame Lem's Love": Happy Birthday, Richard Corben!

Happy birthday to writer/artist Richard Corben (born Oct. 1, 1940)! For the month of October, I'm planning on focusing on scenes from horror comics, in keeping with the Halloween season...though I'll probably make exceptions for my "birthday posts" if I don't have any horror-themed panels from that day's featured artist. Of course, that's not an issue with Richard Corben, who's done a lot of horror stories through his career. Reposting from the old Tumblr site: One of Corben's earliest comics, from the underground comic Skull #2 (later reprinted in Horror in the Dark #1), "Lame Lem's Love"; story and art by Richard Corben.

Horror in the Dark #1, "Blood Birth": Happy Birthday, Rich Margopoulos!
