Heavy Metal Monday: April 1977, "Den": Richard Corben.
Another habit I developed on the old Tumblr site was posting panels from various issues of "Heavy Metal" on Fridays...at some point, I realized that I should have made it Monday for the alliteration of "Heavy Metal Monday," but by that time it had become a tradition. Well, with a new home comes a new tradition, so now it WILL be "Heavy Metal Monday." And to start, I'll repost a panel from the premiere issue: "Den," story and art by Richard Corben.

To me, Corben was too much in that "uncanny valley", where his drawings looked almost real, yet not real enough.
